Nadia Nakai's debut album, Naked, may have taken 8 years to finish, but she wouldn't want to change a thing. The album has been receiving praise from fans and is a big deal for the rapper.
Nadia Nakai, one of Mzansi's most popular female rappers, has dropped her debut album, Naked, and is happy about the journey she followed.
It may have taken her 8 years just to get her first album finished, but she's got no regrets about it.
TimesLIVE reported Nadia took to social media to reminisce about the road she followed to get to where she is now. She admitted there was doubt, but feels she put out the best album.
Nadia also remembered her first-ever single, Money, on which she worked with Kid X and DJ Capital.
"I remember my first single featured Kid X and DJ Capital called Money. I couldn’t believe I was able to even get them on a song with me. Especially since I had literally just started.
"Now I just released my debut album eight years later! I’m so happy I trusted my journey and took the time to grow into myself and work on my music. I’ve been moving at my own pace and the love I’ve been receiving is overwhelming."
The rapper opened up about her career and album to her boss Cassper Nyovest on his Family Tree Podcast on YouTube a while ago and it was a candid discussion, as reported on by Briefly.co.za.
"I think it was extremely emotional for me because I always had an idea of what I thought sounded good enough until I got better than good enough then I understood what the criticism was... I had to grow into an artist that was good enough to make a great album."
