On Thursday, Yusuf Abramjee shared a video which shows a taxi driver hurling a hammer at a motorist's vehicle.

Briefly.co.za gathered the incident took place in Fourways on a highway. Although it is not clear what sparked the confrontation, the video shows the taxi driver's lane is cut out by the barriers. He then appears to force his way into the other lane by hitting the other car.

The motorist films as the taxi driver takes out a hammer and throws it at his car while they were still driving.

At the end of the video, the motorist drops the camera as he tries to flee from the taxi driver as glass shatters all around him.

The video sparked quite the reaction and Mzansi was left divided. Some condemned the taxi driver's actions, calling on the police to act swiftly.

Lex Signum, who goes by the Twitter handle‏ @illegaladverts, commented: "Seems normal. They have been doing this for years. Hammers and knobkerries. They even wave them about whilst forcing their way through oncoming traffic. @JoburgMPD rather do static road blocks."

However, there were those who turned the video in a race issue, accusing the motorist, who is a white male, of provoking the taxi driver.
