Minister of Transport Fikile Mbalula recently took to social media to reveal that he would be joining traffic officers on the roads during the Durban July weekend. Mzansi social media users were amused by him calling himself "Officer Mbalula".
He posted some pictures of himself and some traffic officers on Twitter captioned:
"Officer Mbalula will be at a road near you today. We know you have Durban July ahead, we want you safe and alive after this weekend. I will join our officers on the roads in keeping you safe and holding those with worst behaviour and do not love life accountable."
Twitter user Makatiu_unathi said:
"If there is anything I appreciate about Mbaks is that he is able to bring a vibe on whatever portfolio he is given and that is a sign of a hard worker. Keep doing good minister."

"When you join them, please join them on a salary level too, to really get the feel of how they are ill-treated financially by our corrupt system and end up taking bribes to complement their salary."
"The most hands-on Minister I know. You excel in any ministry you are given... thank you for being a good example."
