Julius Malema has slammed the recent Daily Maverick article concerning the EFF's trash left behind after a weekend at a Camps Bay guesthouse.

The EFF leader joked about the article on Thursday outside the North Gauteng High Court.

"After they've gone through used condoms, they're going to start peeping through windows to see how many rounds you last in bed," Malema said.

Malema was addressing supporters outside the court in a mix of Sepedi and English. This came after the court dismissed his application arguing that the Riotous Assemblies Act - which he is accused of violating - is unconstitutional.

He was referring to the recent article which found R60 000 worth of empty alcohol bottles among the EFF's trash after a weekend away. The article used this as a way to raise questions about hypocrisy, as the EFF claims to be a pro-poor party dedicated to economic transformation.

Malema, however, dismissed the article with a few jokes, according to The Citizen.

"Look at how daring this white woman is," Malema said, referring to journalist Marianna Thamm, who wrote the piece.

"You know, a used condom, wrapped in a packet, can you imagine opening that?" Malema said. His comments had the crowds laughing, Briefly.co.za has gathered.
