Former ANC chief whip, Jackson Mthembu, enjoyed a lovely night out with his daughters and their friends recently.

Mthembu, currently serving as Minister in the Presidency, took some snapshots while dining out and shared them via social media.

Briefly.co.za noted that it’s gone viral since being shared on twitter on Wednesday as nearly 3 000 people liked the post.

Mthembu recently mourned the loss of his eldest daughter, Khwezi, after she took her own life in March.

Tweeps shared a wide range of responses as some took a lighthearted approach.

King Given (@ngomani_given) said, “ Be careful they will even go to trash bins just to check how much you are spending.”
#TEN_YEARS‏ (@Zusakhe_Mavovo) commented, “Minister can I have the cell number of the one in black top, I want her to be my advisor... Iza minister.”

Then there were a few who were critical of the post and the restaurant visit.

Iinda4mlindos‏ (@Iinda62394850) said, “ANC executives continuation of gloating first it was Tito Mboweni now Mthembu while the people are poor and it is not different from *let them eat cake.”

However, the reaction was very positive for the most part as most people commended the minister for making time with his family.
