It’s no secret that Kaizer Chiefs had a campaign to forget and were determined to make amends for next season.

Baccus has spent most of his life in Australia as he joined Sydney FC’s academy in 2008, but was actually born in Durban.

The 27-year-old has been around the block as he spent time with Le Mans in France and had trials in Spain.

The midfielder then returned to Australia in 2012 when he signed for Perth Glory in the A-League.

The journeyman then had a stint in Italy for Siena, before returning to Oz once again and eventually joined Blacktown City.

After spending two seasons with Western Sydney Wanderers, Baccus transferred to Melbourne City FC in October 2018.

Kaizer Chiefs shared the announcement of the new recruit via Facebook and the post went viral as it attracted more than 1 000 comments.

Siya Nogwaza said, “Thank you very much. Now we waiting for a announcement of a new coach.”
Katlego E. Matli added: “I am cheerfully delighted and flabbergasted with enormous gratification and appreciation for dispensing such tenderising and mesmerising information. We Are Amakhosi.”
Mbongeni Mzilankatha commented, “New signings no longer excite me, i have seen enough insignificant signings for the past 3 seasons that didn't bear our desired fruits in the end but i remain hopeful and happy as a khosi fan for the fact that atleast you're doing something about it. LOVE & PEACE.”
