Vanessa Adams not only does her best to keep South African streets safe, she also dedicates her free time to help feed hungry children. The forensic police officer has a passion to do everything she can for her community.

Local forensic police officer, Vanessa Adams, spends her free time making sure her community's kids have eaten.

GoodThingsGuy reports that Vanessa has always felt the need to feed others - she would bring home hungry children so they could eat.

She even invited a whole soccer team over for dinner once. That compassion has grown into a real passion to take care of her community.

By day, Vanessa solves crime and by night, she feeds those in need. A 24/7 hero.

Briefly.co.za gathered that Vanessa came across a poor and vulnerable girl one day after attending a case and she just had to help her. Out of her own pocket, of course.

She then decided to start her own non-profit organisation in Paarl East - Fountain of Hope.

Today, Fountain of Hope makes a difference in the lives of hundreds of people.

Valcare, an Impact Funding Platform activating social change in the Cape Winelands, has chosen Vanessa as a real South African Hero.
