Mthunzi's nurse, Sewela, speaks a language that isn't that familiar to many South African ears - Khelobedu. 'Scandal' fans are happy that the soap is introducing them to the language and reflecting Mzansi's diversity.
Mthunzi's nurse, Sewela, is speaking Khelobedu, one of the lesser-known languages in South Africa and viewers are enjoying hearing it.
Khelobedu is a language spoken by the Balobedu tribe in Limpopo and is a 'non-Pedi' dialect of Northern Sotho.
It's not a language often heard on our screens so Scandal! fans are happy to get treated to it when Sewela is poking her nose into the Langa family's business.
She was making a joke about Xolile when she made Mthunzi chuckle - almost giving away that he's actually faking the severity of his bad health.
Some of the show's fans took to Twitter to express how much they like hearing Khelobedu, and Briefly.co.za gathered a handful of them here:
@nwamawila - Beautiful language from Tzaneen... Khilobedu.. queen Modjadji's language
@Red_Offishal - That's some deep sepedi
