DJ Fresh has officially been axed by Metro FM but he isn't bothered by it at all. In fact, Fresh is happy to move on to bigger and better things in his future - he told fans he will be starting something new in August.
It is official - DJ Fresh's chapter with Metro FM is over.
The SABC released a statement explaining the decision to let DJ go for good. However, it seems that his fans are more upset over it than he is.
Fresh responded to the statement by saying he has never felt better and that he feels like he has been freed of a 'burdensome monkey'.
As reported on by TimesLIVE, Fresh said his time at MetroFM was magical.
"I have actually never been better! I feel like I have been freed of a burdensome monkey on my back. My time at Metro FM was nothing short of magical."
"Thanks to all of the listeners and colleagues that made it what it was."
Fresh may have been dumped, but he doesn't regret it.
"I have no regrets about how this worked out, because I firmly believed that fair labour practice is about correction more than it is about being grossly punitive. As a principle, I would sooner walk away from a job (any job) than accept such abuse."
He also apologised to anyone he has offended with the language he used:
"To those I offended with the use of the word msunery, I apologise unreservedly, and will do better next time."
On that note, the popular DJ shared some happy news as well. He won't be gone forever and returns on the 1st of August.
"I start a brand new show and chapter on the first of August 2019. Watch this space, I cannot wait."
It's not clear yet what Fresh will be taking on next, but Briefly.co.za gathered that Kaya FM is not it.
This move has made Metro FM and the SABC even more unpopular as Fresh's fans said wherever he goes, they will follow.
