Good news: Couple who crowdfunded R19k for IVF announce pregnancy

A couple who started an IVF crowdfunding campaign earlier this year, managed to get their third procedure and have finally fallen pregnant. The ecstatic pair took to social media to share the wonderful news.

Adene and Rayno wed in March 2016. After about 6 months of trying to have a child, Adene realised something was ominous. She discovered that at that stage, being 35, her fertility had started declining. She was diagnosed with Endometriosis and a low AMH count.

The couple utilised the services of the not-for-profit organisation Back A Buddy to appeal for financial help to pursue IVF as a treatment option.

"We need a little financial help towards our last IVF attempt"

The couple managed to raise almost R20 000 and successfully completed the last IVF attempt, which led to a pregnancy.

"After a long and tough battle trying to conceive with help from doctors, 3 IUI treatments, 2 surgeries, 3 IVF’s and a crowdfunding campaign with BackaBuddy, I can officially say I am pregnant. WOW, these words are still surreal!"

The expecting wife did share that she was still cautious as it is still early days but the news was wonderful nonetheless.

The couple thanked everyone for their support and prayers.

"Thank you for standing with us on this journey, even though the journey does not end here... there are lots more to come!"

Mzansi social media users were filled with congratulatory messages for the proud pair.
