Bafana Bafana has no lack of love ahead of their last eight Afcon match on Wednesday night. Taking to social media, SA soccer fans shared "love letters" to the national team.
South Africans flooded Twitter streets with messages of support for Bafana Bafana, who is set to face off against Nigeria tonight in an Afcon quarter-finals match.
The overwhelming support Mzansi showed Bafana led to #LoveLetter2Bafana trending on the social media platform.
Nkanyezi Masango, who goes by the Twitter handle @MasangoNkanyezi, commented: "Please restore our dignity as SA men and just beat Nigeria. Whatever happens after this will be a cherry on top. Phela bayasidelela laba! #LoveLetter2Bafana."
Twitter user, @Dassbee, added: "#LoveLetter2Bafana we behind you all the way. . Be brave. You can't lose to Sunnyside.. power, love and spirit."
Social media user, @SamSesing, wrote: "#LoveLetter2Bafana. Everything you need is already inside you. Don't wait for others to light your fire. You have your own matches... Go burn those eagles wings."
Meanwhile, Briefly.co.za earlier reported that fans of both Bafana Bafana and Nigeria took to social media to fire shots at each other.
Mzansi poked fun at the African rivals, joking that they'll deport Nigerians living in Hillbrow if Bafana loses.
"Nigeria should just decide if they want AFCON or Hillbrow," a Bafana fan wrote.
