Floyd Shivambu pays heartfelt tribute to late "friend and brother"

Floyd Shivambu opened up on social media, sharing with South Africans about the death of a close friend.

EFF Deputy-President Floyd Shivambu penned a heartbreaking post about the "unbearable" death of his friend, Moses Mtileni.

Briefly.co.za gathered Mtileni, a PhD candidate at Wits, was killed on Monday after armed men entered his home.

"On Monday, thugs entered the house of my friend, brother & academic mentor Moses Mtileni and killed him in Tembisa and shot his wife. One of the brightest people I know with three Masters Degrees in Town & Regional Planning and Dev. Studies, a PHD candidate at Wits. Unbearable!" he captioned the post.

The post touched South Africans' hearts and they send their condolences to the deceased's family and friends, including Shivambu.

Simon Grindrod,‏ who goes by the Twitter handle SimonPGrindrod, commented: "Devastating and senseless loss. My deepest condolences to the Mtileni family and friends."
Pauli Van Wyk, @PaulivW, added: "This violent society. Terrible news. I’m very sorry for your loss, Floyd. Strength."
