- Former SA Revenue Service (Sars) commissioner Tom Moyane has joined the Twitter community
- "Grootman" announced his presence on the social media platform with a video
- However, he has not received a warm welcome and Mzansi quickly dragged the ex-Sars boss
In December last year, former South African president Jacob Zuma joined Twitter and Mzansi was divided - some took shots at uBaba while his supporters praised his online presence.
Now, another controversial public figure joined the social media platform. Tom Moyane, the embattled ex-Sars boss, posted a video on Twitter on Tuesday, announcing that he had joined.
"Good morning. I am very happy to be part of the Twitter community," he said, adding that he hopes to be part of the "dialogue and discourse" on the social media platform.
Briefly.co.za gathered Moyane went on to invite South Africans to join him in discussion.
However, it was not long until his video went viral on Mzansi's Twitter streets and South Africans dragged him in the comment section.
Bhodlinyama Skhoma, who goes by the Twitter handle @ShepherdSilayi, wrote: "Welcome grootman, you must be strong here things can be rough. Good luck."
Alastair McAlpine, @AlastairMcA30, added: "You mismanaged SARS catastrophically (and probably corruptly), which directly harmed the economy and the poor. I hope the authorities catch up with you soon."
