It is always sad when someone that has given show much to his country passes away. Stogie T spoke about the relationship he had with the late rugby player, James Small. It was devastating to hear the news on Wednesday morning that the amazing South African rugby player had passed away.

SA Rugby released a statement that Small was rushed into hospital on Tuesday night after suffering a suspected heart attack.

Briefly.co.za learnt that this was so unexpected and came as a shock to so many people. James had such an amazing influence on so many lives and had a positive influence on them. Stogie T is one of those who was overcome with grief by James’s death as he had played a major role in his teenage life.

Stogie shared his wonderful experiences through social media and told how James had given him his first cheque for graffiti work. This in turn took that burden off his mother’s shoulders as she did not have to buy Stogie takkies.

At the age of 18, Stogie received R6 000 for a graffiti banner which was paid for by James. This was Stogie’s first and only paying job apart from his music.

The money he received was used to buy himself 6 pairs of Jordans. Stogie told his mom that she no longer had to worry about buying him sneakers. Stogie states that James was a legend then and still is today. He thanked James for the great memories and prayed he rests in peace.
