With the latest fingers pointed at Zodwa Wabantu for her outfits, she has slammed out at South Africans for having double standards. It confuses her as to how they are okay with and idolise people like Rihanna and Serena Williams for their nude attire but then seem to have a problem with the way she dresses.

It was the dress that Zodwa wore to the Vodacom Durban July that has had tongues wagging. It was the most revealing dress she has worn and this topic has been dominating social media since Saturday. The comments have been harsh where people have attempted to body shame her and slam her nudity.

Briefly.co.za learnt that Zodwa made her feelings heard when talking to TshisaLIVE. She comment that South Africans are funny as they seem to praise the likes of Rihanna and Beyoncé who, when appear in revealing items of clothing or even naked, very little negative is said.

They are not proclaimed as bad people, prostitutes or bad role models, she claims, yet when she does it there is a major problem.

The outfit that Zodwa wore to the Durban July was very similar to what Rihanna wore in 2014 on the CFDA Fashion Awards red carpet in New York City. Even though the nude sheer dress had people commenting, Rihanna received more praise then she did criticism.

Zodwa’s request to the South Africa people was that they need to pick a side and stick to it. If they love, respect and even celebrate celebrities like RiRi as fashion icons, then surely there should not be anything standing in their way to do the same for her.

To refresh memories, Zodwa posted photos on her Instagram.
