Leader of the Democratic Alliance, Mmusi Maimane, shared a social media post, which highlighted the plight of a woman who lost her baby.
The post was in response to a news report highlighting that the loss of life was allegedly due to poor service delivery.
It was reported that a sewerage spill resulted in the unfortunate incident and Maimane pointed out that the municipality is run by the African National Congress.
Maimane’s caption concludes by saying, “It is both sad and angering. Regardless of politics we need to focus local gov on delivery. It’s why I work hard to ensure DA gov does.”
Briefly.co.za surveyed the reaction and it seems the tweet did not generate the desired effect as Maimane got roasted in the end.
guduza (@Vezubuhle16) said, “That means nothing warra, even if it wasn't the party of her choice she didn't choose to suffer,,jus help the person and stop pointing fingers.”
Dr Taxi driver (@Hlabang) commented, “Chief you are heartless you beginning to think like those people who control you the story of this young lady has nothing to do with @MYANC did you visit her know that she's ANC member? Ezakho ziyakuhlula uHelen ukuxakile yiba nobuntu.”
Dumile Gcabashe (@dumil3) added, “Cheap politics; have you no shame mfundisi?”
