UCT Vice Chancellor, Mamokgethi Phakeng, took to social media to share photos of herself and the President of France, Emmanuel Macron.
The jet-setting senior academic took the snapshots on a visit to Élysée Palace in Paris, France.
Phakeng, who is known for being a selfie queen, attended the U7 Alliance of World Universities in the palace, which serves as the home and office of the president.
TimesLIVE reported that the Palace is based in the centre of Paris and has been standing for 300 years.
Briefly.co.za observed Phakeng’s excitement as she took to Twitter to reveal that she was seated at the right-hand-side of Macron.
Phakeng jokingly added that the president proceeded to ask her for a selfie as she posted two follow up tweets.
