The EFF says that it has told its lawyers to aid Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane in her court battle with Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan.

This comes as Godhan filed a court application to have Mkhwebane's report against him set aside.

The Red Berets have come to the Public Protector's defence, claiming that Cyril Ramaphosa failed to follow her recommendation to take action against Gordhan.

The EFF has been highly-critical of Gordhan in recent weeks. This animosity reached its height in Parliament on Thursday while Gordhan was giving a budget speech.

The EFF caused a scene while Gordhan spoke and needed to be ejected from the venue, Briefly.co.za has gathered. During Gordhan's speech, the EFF heckled him, calling him a "constitutional delinquent".

Now, the EFF wants to intervene regarding Mkhwebane's court battle with Gordhan. Gordhan wants to have the Public Protector's report concerning the so-called Sars 'rogue unit' set aside. Mkhwebane had ruled that Gordhan had violated the Constitution and acted unethically by establishing this unit.
