- Gigi Lamayne highlighted some racist things Gandhi once said
- Aside from what people think, Stogie T feels Gandhi has been misunderstood
Stogie T channelled his inner struggle activist this week when he took to social media in defence of the great Indian activist, Mahatma Gandhi.
Racism is a touchy topic in South Africa, especially when it comes to varying opinions on iconic struggle activists like Gandhi.
Briefly.co.za learnt that there are many conflicting opinions when it comes to Gandhi. Many believe Gandhi to have been a peacemaker; however, there are some who have labelled him a racist.
It was Gigi Lamayne who struck up the racist Gandhi topic earlier this year when she posted racist things Gandhi had allegedly said in his day.
Stogie T felt some type of way about the fact that Gandhi had been turned into a racist and that the equality that he fought for ha been forgotten.
Taking to social media, Stogie T highlighted that Gandhi had been misunderstood and that his so called racist remarks were made from an uneducated and manipulated mind.
Despite the pertinent points that Stogie T pointed out, some still feel strongly against Gandhi and that the topic should be left alone.
