- Boy Mohedo finally received a new house on Thursday
- The 101-year-old madala waited more than 20 years for a RDP house
- However, businessman Collen Mashawana donated towards Mohedo's house and it made his dream come true
On Mandela Day, Dibapalo Boy Mohedo finally slept safely in a new home after waiting more than two decades for a RDP house.
The 101-year-old was handed keys to his new crib by Collen Mashawana, the founder of Afribiz, in Nigel, Ekurhuleni.
Taking to Twitter, Premier David Makhura gushed about Mohedo and his wife getting their new home.
"I’m happy to announce that Mkhulu Boy Mohedo’s plea for a house has been answered. On this #MandelaDay we handed over his newly built house in Nigel, Ekurhuleni. A big thank you to @AfribizInvest and team for making it possible. A fulfilling day indeed. #BeTheLegacy," he wrote.
Briefly.co.za previously reported Mashawana heard about the madala's story and decided to help him.
Taking to social media at the time, Mashawana shared Mohedo's story and vowed to build him a new house - a promise he has now fulfilled.
