Mzansi entertainer, Zodwa Wabantu, isn't one to hang out with squads and there's a reason for it - she doesn't trust anyone enough for that kind of thing. Zodwa says she loves everyone, but she rolls alone.
Zodwa Wabantu does her thing and she does it alone - no squads for this lady.
She prefers to go solo, not because she doesn't like other entertainers or women, but because she doesn't feel like she can trust anyone the way she trusts herself.
Zodwa has reached a point in her career where she would typically have a squad, but she's content with riding solo, reported TimesLIVE.
The dancer and reality TV star says that in an industry as fake as the entertainment scene, people are prone to turning on each other.
That's why she's all good with being on her own. She added that she won't change the way she does things.
"I only trust Zodwa Wabantu. When it was hard, I was there for me and now that it has gotten easier I am still here for me.
"I learnt a long time ago that trusting yourself is the best thing you can do for yourself. I'm not gonna change that, especially not now. In a fake industry like this and where people are always ready to sell you out. I love everyone but I roll alone."
Briefly.co.za learnt that this wasn't the first time that Zodwa expressed her distrust in others and preference to be solo.
She's been burnt before.
"To all the people that I help around the country, I don’t have friends. To the 'so-called friends'... those who come to me when they need me and those who don’t have a place to stay or money... Please stop spreading rumours that I think too much of myself and that my flats are filthy."
Meanwhile, Zodwa is hard at work, doing what she does best: entertaining.
