- Miss SA had Minnie in a tiff over the super-tanned finalist pics
- Minnie feels that the photographer made the finalists look the same and took away from their diversity
- Aside from Minnie and a ton of other people complaining, the Miss SA 2019 finalists have received a lot of love
The finalists of Miss SA have brought about some controversy. Minnie Dlamini Jones has added her views with regards to the “same shade of brown” of all this year’s finalists. She has come out to say that it is disappointing.
Taking to Twitter, the TV personality articulated her disappointment. She said that when the professional photoshoot pictures are compared to the women’s personal social media pics, she is of the opinion that Miss SA could have done better.
Briefly.co.za learnt that in an interview, Minnie said the photos of the women are very disappointing. She said that the women are not all the same shade of brown and that they are much better looking. The contrast from their IG pages are unbelievable.
There have been other criticisms that the organisers have received since they announcing the finalists for 2019. With all that is going on, there has also been a large number of praise for the top 16.
When TshisaLIVE asked for comment from Miss SA organisers regarding the “over-tanning” of pictures, they declined to comment.
Miss SA CEO, Stephanie Weil, did however comment when speaking to Sunday Times last week. She said that they are very happy with the positive feedback they had received with regards to the calibre and diverse nature of all of the 16 finalists.
Even though there have been objections to the pictures, the people of South Africa appreciate that the organisers have taken the time and effort to select such a diverse group of beautiful women to represent South Africa.
