Channel O has dubbed today a Levels Day to muso AKA, in honour of his contribution to music and his 7 x platinum Levels album.
Heavy weights in the entertainment industry have shone a spotlight on AKA since the announcement of his Levels album turning 5 and going 7x platinum status earlier this month.
According to SA Hip Hop Magazine, Raphael Benza of Vth Season said: “AKA’s Levels album is a true classic body of work that the world will continue to celebrate for many years to come. A lot of milestones have been achieved over the past 5 years with Levels that have shaped AKA;s career and taken it to new heights. Thank you to the fans and music industry for your unwavering support of AKA.”
Since the album turned 5, it has been spotlighted by streaming giant, Spotify who had unique canvasses playing for each person that streamlined Levels. MTV Base and Channel O also dedicated timeslots on their channels to highlight key music videos off AKA’s Levels catalogue.
Live Amp ran a social media competition to play the most voted AKA music video off Levels on their show. 947 ran a #947AKALEVELS day where they played the entire AKA Levels album along with commentary on their station.
Now Channel O has decided to shine the spotlight once again, dedicating today as a ‘Levels Day’. You can catch Supa Mega tonight on Massive Music on Channel O at 9.30pm and all day on 4 different segments. Tune in now.
About two weeks ago, Briefly.co.za reported that Mzansi producer, Tweezy, has shared a shout-out to AKA for the opportunity of being part of his 7x platinum album, Levels.
Tweezy is just one of the many people who played a part in making AKA’s album, Levels, the success it has become.
According to SA Hip Hop magazine, Tweezy produced three of the songs on the album, Run Jozi, Sim Dope and All Eyes On Me.
