On Sunday, Kyle 'Bugha' Giersdorf, a 16-year-old teen from Pennsylvania, walked away a millionaire after he won the solos division at the Fortnite World Cup in New York.
Briefly.co.za learned the teen won a whopping $3 million, which is an estimated R42.5m, after he took the title in the solo finals.
Fortnite is a popular online survival-themed video game. The tournament, which took place at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York, offered a total of $30 million, R425 million, in prize money.
Social media users reacted to the 16-year-old becoming an instant millionaire thanks to the popular game.
Twitter user, @acecoId, commented: "Proof that life ain’t fair."
Another tweep, @iamkoshiek, added: "16 year old Kyle Giersdorf made R43m playing Fortnite this weekend. Yes, you read that right. R43 million. Enjoy your Monday at work!!"
