Police Minister Bheki Cele has vowed once more to secure an arrest in Senzo Meyiwa's murder case. Following the death of his father, Sam Meyiwa, South African's denounced the fact that the soccer icon's killer remains at large.
Not for the first time, Police Minister Bheki Cele has committed to arresting those responsible for Senzo Meyiwa's death.
Reneilwe Serero, the minister's spokesperson, commented on the matter that has once more been the centre of attention:
“The case is at a sensitive stage and Minister Cele has committed himself, once more, that an arrest will be secured in the Senzo Meyiwa case."
However, years after the former Bafana Bafana goalkeeper's murder, South African's have lost hope that progress will be made in the case.
Briefly.co.za reported that the death of Sam Meyiwa, who died before he could gain closure over his son's tragic passing, had seen citizen's voicing doubt over whether or not the case will be solved.
Five whole years later, authorities have only managed one botched arrest in the matter, despite Cele vowing that progress would be made by Easter 2019.
The minister had visited Meyiwa's family after Sam's passing, briefing them on the developments in the case, reports TimesLIVE.
