Briefly.co.za gathers that as a result of the development, the Day of Arafat, which is the day of Haj that falls a day before Eid Al Adha, the 'festival of sacrifice', is on Saturday, August 10.

Eid Al Adha marks Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son out of faith to Allah.

Muslims sacrifice a prescribed animal (goat or sheep) to commemorate the ultimate show of obedience.

The poor receive one third of the share; another third is given to relatives, friends and neighbours; and the remaining third is retained by the family.

1.6 billion Muslims worldwide celebrate the festival.
