Thuli Madonsela took to social media to thank her well-wishers ahead of her trek up Kilimanjaro. The climb is part of the Trek4Mandela initiative, an annual expedition to summit Africa’s highest peak in celebration of the vision of Nelson Mandela.
Thuli Madonsela took to her Twitter account to post:
"We are here. The climb begins this morning. Thank you South Africa for the support and amazing send off at OR Tambo yesterday. Thanks to the media for lending this cause to your platforms. #Grateful"
Now in it's 8th year, Trek4Mandela will continue to celebrate Madiba's legacy. Mzansi social media users sent messages of encouragement to the former Public Protector. Twitter user Nesyhttam said:
"Good luck. There are many mountains to climb, this one maybe one of the easiest."
While Vusimsane2 said:
"All the best Prof and stay blessed."
"Such incredible courage Prof. Such a selfless act to help such a worthy cause to keep girls in school. Good luck to all."
