Soccer icon Lucas Radebe reacts to UK parents naming kids after him

- A man from the UK has shared that he named his child after Lucas Radebe

- The hardcore Leeds fan received a shout-out from the former captain

- This led to others also sharing that they named their kids after the soccer legend

Lucas Radebe made a massive impact in England when he played for the soccer outfit Leeds United. And it seems hardcore Leeds fans will not let the good memories go. An Englishman took to social media to share that he named his newborn son after Lucas Radebe.

The sweet post from Twitter user LUFCbully said:

"This is Lucas, born yesterday. Named after @LucasRadebe"

What came afterwards was even more surprising; several other people responded to the post and shared that they too named their offspring after their club hero.

Twitter user Liam_Anders21 shared a picture of his son with the caption

"This is Lucas names after the chief @LucasRadebe born the same year Lucas retired #MOT#LUF"

While another Twitter user Vaughans10 also shared a picture of his son, saying:

"Also Lucas named after @LucasRadebe Congrats fella #lufc"

Lucas Radebe was very humble in his response to the dedication. He congratulated all the men on their children and said he hoped to meet them soon.

Radebe was made captain of Leeds United for the 1998–99 season. Whilst he was captain, the team enjoyed a period of relative success, they finished fourth in the FA Premier League and qualified for the UEFA Cup. During the 1999–2000 season, Leeds finished third in the Premier League and qualified for the following season's Champions League, where they eventually reached the semi-finals
