After months of planning and pre-wedding jitters, Zodwa Wabantu has come forward with news that her wedding had been called off.

The socialite told TshisaLive that her wedding to fiancé Ntobeko Linda was off “for good” and since then fans have been wondering why.

For a while, Zodwa and Ntobeko kept mum on the reasons behind their split, and that just fuelled the rumour fires even more.

It was said the young man cheated on Zodwa or that his family didn't like her and pressured him to leave her.

But the reality TV star has broken her silence and slammed all these rumours.

According to Zodwa, Ntobeko would never have cheated on her.

"Ntobeko didn't cheat because if he cheated ladies would have said 'yaas we have shown Zodwa Wabantu'."

Briefly.co.za gathered that she also dismissed the rumours that his family didn't approve of her.

"Our split is between me and him, it has nothing to do with his family."

The real reason for the split? Fame.

"I think fame has overwhelmed us and if people can just back off, we will see our way forward. They are putting pressure on us. I understand because I exposed my life but it's too much. We are still on a break trying to sort out our issues."

Perhaps in time, the two will find their way back to each other. For now though, they are keeping things friendly, and Zodwa agreed to split the lobola money she paid his family with Ntobeko as she saw it as being fair.
