Simphiwe Ngema says Dumi used to tell her hundreds of times a day how much he loved her.

Following Masilela's tragic death, just two months after their blissful wedding, Ngema says her worst nightmare had come to life, only much worse.

His death has taught Ngema how to love herself as much as he loved her, and now the time has come to move on:

“I’m letting go of Dumi, but it doesn’t mean I’m looking for a man. I don’t know if I’m ready for love today or if I’ll be ready tomorrow. I don’t know if I’ll find a man tomorrow or in two years’ time. It’s up to my Creator.”

Ngema says that after Dumi was shot in an attempted hijacking in 2017 she was afraid people would forget him. This single is her way of making sure she did everything possible to keep his memory alive.
