Bafana Bafana star, Percy Tau, is on the cusp of making a dream debut in the UEFA Champions League.
Tau’s new team, Club Bruges, finished 2nd in the Belgian Pro League last season and are now playing qualifying matches to gain entry into Europe’s biggest club competition.
Bruges will host Ukraine powerhouse Dynamo Kyiv in the third qualifying round on Tuesday, with the second leg taking place on 13 August.
Should they navigate the tricky tie against Dynamo Kyiv, Bruges will then face the winner of the match between FC Basle of Switzerland or LASK Linz of Austria in the final qualifier.
Briefly.co.za gathered that Bruges head into the encounter full of confidence, following a 6-0 drubbing of Sint Truiden on Friday.
Tau scored a goal as well in the demolition and has been named in the 20-man squad to face Dynamo.
If Bruges qualify for the Champions League, it will expose the 25-year-old to potential suitors should he excel in the tournament.
However, coach Philippe Clement isn’t taking anything for granted as he prepares to face Dynamo.
As reported by the club website, Clement warned: “The match against Dynamo Kiev is one at a whole different level.”
