Controversial entertainer and reality TV host, Zodwa Wabantu, has come under the spotlight yet again, but this time it has nothing to do with her relationship status or TV show. The dancer has been accused of promoting animal cruelty.

But Zodwa’s reaction to the criticism is what has raised a few eyebrows. Zodwa simply laughed off the claims and told her trolls to go after Google and YouTube instead.

Zodwa caused a fuss on Instagram on Tuesday night after she posted a video of a young monkey sleeping. The video shows a man poking the monkey and hitting it over the head while the monkey tries to sleep.

Zodwa captioned her Instagram post, “Vuka wena. Vuka asisebenzanga izolo” followed by several laughing emojis.

The reality TV host’s fans were not amused by her Instagram post and slammed Zodwa for sharing “extreme cruelty” to animals.

Others cautioned her to delete the post before people made a big deal about it.

Mfundo Mabalane wrote: “I understand that you didn’t capture this but please don’t promote it. You just recently issued an apology to the LGBTIQ+ community, pleading ignorance. Please don’t put yourself in that position again. This is cruel.”

Zodwa responded to one of the comments on her post which called for the video to be taken down. But she portrayed a defiant reaction and requested that the person should speak to Google and YouTube too.

“They should go to Google and YouTube and take it down from there,” she wrote.

She later claimed that the post was simply a joke and was not meant to harm or offend anyone.

The video has since been deleted from Zodwa’s Instagram.

Meanwhile yesterday, Briefly.co.za reported that after months of planning and pre-wedding jitters, Zodwa Wabantu has come forward with news that her wedding had been called off. The socialite told TshisaLive that her wedding to fiancé Ntobeko Linda was off “for good” and since then fans have been wondering why.

For a while, Zodwa and Ntobeko kept mum on the reasons behind their split, and that just fuelled the rumour fires even more.

It was said the young man cheated on Zodwa or that his family didn't like her and pressured him to leave her.

But the reality TV star has broken her silence and slammed all these rumours.
