Mzansi muso, Zakes Bantwini, took to social media to ask his fans for help to find a very special and talented young girl.
Zakes shared a video of “the girl with the beautiful singing voice” on Twitter and said that in honour of Women’s Month, he wanted to record a song or an EP for her, so she could help her family.
He wrote: “Help me get this young girl in Women’s Month and help her record a song or EP and support her family by buying and streaming her music once recorded, with this voice, she can buy her family a house. Let’s pull together SA and help, who is this young lady and where can I find her?”
The little girl is seen singing her rendition of a gospel tune called Mzalwane Qina (Persevere) in the video. The background shows the poverty of her homestead.
According to TshisaLive, Sunday World wrote an article about 13-year-old Nosipho Ngubane, who was found with the help of social media. She was said to be from Mphophomeni village near Howick in KwaZulu-Natal.
Zakes is not the only celebrity who has been looking for Nosipho. Late last year, businessman Mkululi White, saw her video and mobilised Mzansi, including celebrities to track down the family to help assist them.
Mkululi and his team managed to raise R32 000 worth of goods to build Nosipho and her family a home, as well as donated non-perishable goods to the family.
Imbewu star, Tony Kgoroge, has also been trying to get Nosipho’s talent acknowledged. He has been trying to find a record label to groom her into a star.
Many fans have commended Zakes for trying to help her:
A month ago, Briefly.co.za reported that Emtee came forward and expressed that he needs to part ways with Ambitiouz Entertainment after years of soul-destroying circumstances. Zakes Bantwini stepped up and offered Emtee a spot and Mzansi had a lot to say about it.
Ambitiouz Entertainment has not had the greatest track record when it comes to retaining artists. Emtee’s announcement came as a bit of a shock but because of the label's reputation, it was taken seriously.
Briefly.co.za learnt that Zakes Bantwini stepped up to the plate and offered Emtee a deal. Zakes has apparently wanted to sign Emtee for a while.
Zakes took to social media to extend his offer to Emtee. He also expressed that if Emtee needs anything, he is there to help a brother out.
