The question sparked quite the reaction and our readers were left divided. Some believed cheaters deserved a second chance while others said that a leopard never changes its spots.

Here are some of our readers' reactions to the question:

Michael van Zyl commented: "Once a cheat always a cheat. Forgive and leave the relationship because a person who cheats on you does not love you."
Polycarp Nicholas Ngwenya added: "Oh well was once in that situation when I was cheated on,she did show remorse and because I did love her,I just had to put it past behind me....Only for her to do it again with someone different, from that day I promised myself to never go back to a cheater,it's now once bitten twice shy!!"
Terry Thabelo commented: "No I wouldn't. Because they did it on purpose. Cheating is not a mistake."
Colleen Roseline Spogter wrote: "Yes because I love my partner, and I realize no one is perfect. I'm not supporting a cheating man, just understanding his weakness and pray to God to help him. Just my opinion. Anyway I am married and knows exactly what I am talking about. It hurts and painful to go through that but God's grace is enough to overcome. God will deal with him for his weakness."
Natacha Bodenstein said: "No it's never the same after that, it feels literally if someone took your heart from your chest, trust and respect never fully returns....I know been there never again."
