Metro FM is once again surfing Mzansi's headlines - this time the radio station is apologising for a recent online poll that left many South Africans very upset. The poll was about the newly-crowned Miss SA, Zozibini Tunzi.
South Africans were proud when 25-year-old Zozibini Tunzi was crowned as Miss South Africa for 2019.
They were less proud, however, when MetroFM held an online poll that gave voters the option to say she's not the right choice.
The Twitter poll was made by the radio station's The Wkndr Show and left a bitter taste in many people's mouths.
As reported on by EWN, the tweet has since been deleted, but the damage has been done. Thanks to social media users, a screenshot of the poll has been shared:
MetroFM has issued a statement in which they apologise and promise that the matter will be investigated.
Briefly.co.za noticed that despite the apology, South Africans are still very unsettled. Here's what some people had to say:
Whoever posted should be fired follow DJ Fresh
In actual fact, we demand accountability for that #msunery
Tieho TeeMann Selebalo
Mpho Sam Mojapelo
Metro fm is becoming MSUNERY each day
I was listening to the show this morning very shocking from the presenters of the show to conduct such polls I'm really disappointed in Mo G
