A man who thought it would be a good idea to pretend being cripple when he noticed the police got busted for gun and ammunition possession. His actions alerted the cops, leading to his arrest.
A Cape Town man faked being disabled to avoid being searched but was eventually arrested for gun and ammunition possession.
The CT Metro Police Deputy Chief, Annalene Marais, said crime prevention officers were on patrol at about 05:30 when they spotted the man on Ascension Road in Heideveld, as reported on by News24.
"As they came closer he pretended to be a cripple, which raised their suspicions."
Upon approaching the man and searching him, the officers found a pistol as well as ammunition on him.
"When the officers approached and searched him, a silver Llama .22 pistol and a magazine with seven .22 live rounds of ammunition were found in his possession."
Briefly.co.za learnt that the man, a 35-year-old, was promptly arrested for possession of a gun and ammo.
