A local woman who was reported missing has returned home. According to the police, the woman's mother alleges that her boyfriend kidnapped her.
Pretoria Central police spokesperson Captain Augustinah Selepe said the boyfriend subsequently assaulted the woman and that she would be laying charges.
Police had launched an investigation into the disappearance of Boitumelo Marisane, who was last seen going to work last Monday morning.
The 25-year-old lives with her mother and sister and works at the SA Brewery in Rosslyn. She was going to wok via taxi on the morning of her alleged kidnapping. She was wearing jeans, a black T-shirt and blue work overalls.
According to her mother, Baby Marisane, safety has never been an issue because there were always people in the vicinity.
“From the information we gathered, an informal trader in Rosslyn saw her going into a car with a man who was holding her by the hand."
However, she didn't report to work on that day. Baby added that her daughter would not just disappear on purpose. She also wouldn't switch off her phone, which has been off since last Monday.
“She’s a child who goes to work and comes back straight home. Sometimes she visits her boyfriend, but that’s it."
