- Thuli Madonsela has achieved another impressive goal
- The former public protector climbed Mount Kilimanjaro
- The summit was part of the TrekforMandela initiative
Just when we thought Thuli Madonsela could not impress us more, she goes and climbs the highest mountain in Africa.
The former public protector conquered Mount Kilimanjaro in an expedition that formed part of the TrekforMandela initiative.
The TrekforMandela initiative partnered with Caring4Girls - which aims to raise funds for sanitary pads for young girls.
"The biggest lessons were by far conquering the mountain within us, and realising the strength and courage one can master when focusing on the commitments we made to serving these girls in order for them to be able to conquer their own mountains," she said.
Briefly.co.za gathered South Africans were inspired by Madonsela's achievement and they applauded her online.
Twitter user, @khumtombeni, commented: "Wooow, congratulations! That's an astronomical leap."
President Cyril Ramaphosa also congratulated Madonsela and the others for climbing Kilimanjaro.
Ramaphosa added: "We applaud you for your efforts and affirm your success in this endeavour. #Caring4Girls."
