A wedding is one of the most special days in a bride and groom's lives but sometimes the fun is a bit too much and things get out of hand.

A video has surfaced on social media which showed a groom - who had had a little too much to drink - getting some special attention from his new mother-in-law.

The less-than-thrilled mother-in-law was filmed force-feeding the intoxicated groom and the video has gone viral.

On Friday, UNILAD posted the video on Facebook and it got more than 10 million views since it was published.

"This guy got so drunk at his wedding, his new mother-in-law had to feed him," the video was captioned.

Hitesh Nirwan commented: "I have done so many mistakes in my life. But I have never left a wedding ceremony without eating."
Donny Biscardi added: "Meh, this isn’t funny, it’s sad. Why would you not want to remember the happiest day of your life? And then to BE REMEMBERED as so drunk you couldn’t eat food? PASS."
Irene Egan wrote: "God isn’t she a lucky bride, not. It’s meant to be the happiest day and night of your life. Nice wedding day and night she had. I would be gone in the morning when he sobered up and divorce papers would be served to him shortly after. Why some women accept this is beyond me."
Gunther Thys commented: "I bet the wedding night was magical for the bride!"
Kiri Pryde said: "If that was me and my daughter marries a man who got like that on most important day of their lives I would be sprinting for an annulment."
