The notorious list of Top 50 SA hip hop artists which was released recently has spawned much controversy among Mzansi hip-hop stars.

Even Stogie T weighed in on the debate, making it very clear that no rapper is better than him except the late ProKid.

And two days ago, AKA also weighed in on the subject but instead questioned the absence or exclusion of one particular artiste on the list – Ifani.

In a recent tweet, AKA wrote: “These lists are very disappointing… things just don’t make no sense whatsoever. I mean, how the hell can you have a top 50 SA Hip Hop list without Ifani?”

This is a debatable subject and the Supa Mega could have just been playing sarcastic because Ifani and him have a history of having their own beef, back in 2015.

The two musos have been dissing each other through their lyrics for a while now. AKA’s lyrics on his diss track, Composure, when he said, “Went gold but you n**gas did it funny style.”

Some of AKA’s fans were in agreement though and even attributed his absence on the list to his appearance. That’s low.

Here are a few comments from the AKA's tweet:

Another artiste who questioned the list is AKA’s nemesis, Cassper Nyovest. Mufasa jokingly tweeted that he is number 51 on one of the lists, because he wasn’t on it.

A social media user caused one heck of a stir on Twitter when he shared a list of the best hip-hop artists in South Africa.

The list features artists like AKA, Nasty C, Rouge and Sho Madjozi. Right at the top is PRO, and while no one is debating his position, the rest of the list isn't sitting right with music lovers.

Some controversy is to be expected - everyone wants their favourite artist at the top, but the disapproval this list received was almost unanimous.
