EFF leader Julius Malema says that Cyril Ramaphosa got promoted to being president despite his role in the Marikana massacre.
Malema made the bombshell statement while addressing a crowd of supporters during an election manifesto rally.
Malema is no stranger to using fiery rhetoric, but his comments regarding Marikana were particularly extreme. He directly accused Ramaphosa of "killing our people in Marikana", Briefly.co.za has gathered.
Malema added that Ramaphosa acted this way because "Black Lives don't matter".
His statements were shared by the EFF"s official Twitter account.
Malema also attacked Ramaphosa by saying that the president had never been held accountable.
"He was never charged. He was never arrested," Malema told the crowd.
He was referring to the fact that Ramaphosa was a shareholder in Lonmin at the time of Marikana incident. Ramaphosa was also allegedly included in the email correspondence which called for "concomitant action" against the striking miners.
"When you kill black people, you are a hero of enemies of black people," Malema said.
