South Africa’s unemployment rate is a major problem that the ruling party is battling to address.
With the youth unemployment rate even higher, many are becoming sceptical of the opportunities that exist within the country.
A prime example of this was seen via Twitter on Saturday as a young man revealed his dilemma.
Twitter user Molelekwa Pat (@patriq_m) explained that he had his LLB degree and that he is an admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
However, he remains unemployed. The admission startled many social media users as the post went viral.
Briefly.co.za noted the strong reaction and a diverse range of responses followed suit.
TEESA (@Msibi_Teesa) commented, “Black child you on your own! SA.”
Tafman (@TafaraMasea) replied, “You have won the first battle of the war by merely opening up! I trust you will share your testimony with us once you have turned the corner.”
Tweeps were full of suggestions as one asked a contact to assist and another advised Pat to start his own firm.
RapZ (@RRalefume) said, “Set up your law firm in black township.....open ur probono page here on Twitter will follow.”
Pat’s gratitude was evident in his response as he said, “I must say, I am speechless, God is watching, thank you very much. Such humanity.”
