- Following BLF leader Andile Mngxitama's calls for white people to be murdered, along with their pets, he will be squaring off against AfriForum
- The lobby group has taken the matter to the Equality Court, where Mngxitama is expected to defend himself
- The controversial politician will be answering to hate speech charges after making the comments at a rally last year
Andile Mngixtama went viral when he claimed Black First Land First would kill five white people for every black person murdered.
AfriForum has taken the politician to the Equality Court over the incident, which sparked outrage across the nation, charging Mngxitama with hate speech, reports The Citizen.
Briefly.co.za reported at the time that Mngixtama had threatened to murder white people and even their pets at a political rally in Potchefstroom.
After enduring massive backlash for his comments, Mngixtama had pleaded 'self-defence', adamant that his message had been taken out of context.
Earlier this year, the Freedom Front Plus had succeeded in deregistering the BLF as a party for excluding white people from their ranks, reports IOL.
While the party aims to appeal the Independent Electoral Commission's decision, their own constitution was their downfall, confirming that only black South Africans would be welcome.
