- Micho Sredojevic is laughing all the way to the bank following his move to Zamalek
- According to the club’s chairman, Mortada Mansour, Micho will get a massive R18 million
- Although his salary at the Bucs was not known, it is believed that he would get a lot more at Zamalek
Micho Sredojevic is set to earn $100 000 a month - which is about R1.5 million. The massive R18 million annual salary was revealed by Zamalek's chairman, Mortada Mansour.
The massive R18 million payday is for only one season at the Egyptian team, The Sowetan reported.
“Micho signed a one-season contract for US$1.2-million (R18-million). The contract includes a release clause stipulating a compensation worth two months of the coach’s salary‚” Mansour told reporters.
Micho joining Zamalek came as a surprise to South Africans fans and the Orlando Pirates - who were all under the impression he left because of personal matters.
However, reports have since indicated Micho misled the Bucs with the reasons for his departure as he signed a one-year contract with Zamalek days after quitting the Pirates.
On Wednesday, Briefly.co.za reported Micho rubbed up Mzansi soccer fans the wrong way when he took to Twitter to recall the "terrible" week he had.
Micho said he was "relieved" that the week was over and he slammed those who tried to destroy his reputation.
