- The woman, who was identified as Nomsa, shared photos of a JMPD cop helping a gogo with her bags
- Mzansi was inspired by the officer's selflessness and he was dubbed the "King of JMPD"
On Thursday, a woman, Nomsa, took to Twitter to share several photos of a JMPD officer - whose badge identified him as L Moloi.
Briefly.co.za gathered Moloi saw an elderly lady walking with a bag on her head and, instead of letting her struggle on, he offered to carry the bag across the streets.
Nomsa captioned her post:
"I was walking behind this gentleman in Joburg CBD streets. The old lady had that bag on her head and he offered to help her carry her bag and cross the streets. UBUNTU guys!!! I just had to stop him and ask for his name and picture. We are led."
South Africans were inspired by the cop's act of kindness and they applauded him on social media.
The post quickly went viral and it even gathered the attention of Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula.
Mbalula, aka Mr Fix it, wrote: "This one deserve a cold one."
Nkwe Mashamaite, who goes by the Twitter handle @DaveMashamaite, commented: "Acts of ubuntu. Be kind to a person and help where necessary is being a complete human to yourself and to others."
