While many football pundits may have written Kaizer Chiefs off this season, Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya strongly disagrees and sees them as the only real title contenders.

The 22-year-old was suspended for the match against Highlands Park, but returned for the victory over Black Leopards.

Ntiya-Ntiya drew confidence from Chiefs’ perfect start as they’ve won their opening two fixtures.

SowetanLIVE reported that the club are determined to end the long spell without silverware.

Ntiya-Ntiya said, “I think it is a must for us to turn things around, because it has been dry hey.”

The left-back added, “It’s been four seasons now without anything. So I think Kaizer Chiefs and Kaizer Chiefs only will win the league. The ambition is to win the league.”

Saturday will serve as a good test of Chiefs’ credentials when they host SuperSport United at FNB Stadium.

SuperSport lost to the reigning champions Mamelodi Sundowns during their opening fixture, but dished up a 3-0 demolition against Orlando Pirates.

This was followed up with another convincing victory in the MTN8 as they thrashed Bidvest Wits 3-0.

Ntiya-Ntiya admitted to watching the dominant display from SuperSport in the MTN8, but feels that Chiefs’ absence may just be beneficial to the team.

He said, “For me the break for us was also a blessing, because you get to see how other teams play‚ which is an advantage for us.”

The youngster emphasised that the players want to do well for the fans.

Briefly.co.za gathered that Ntiya-Ntiya joined the Amakhosi in 2016 and recently signed a contract extension.
