A mysterious man on a motorbike was seen vandalising a speed camera in close proximity to traffic police officials.

The incident was caught on camera and is causing quite a stir on social media.

Video footage shows how the man approaches the speed trap and smashes it, then casually drives away.

The brazen actions sparked a huge debate after South Africa Live shared the video via Facebook on Monday.

Briefly.co.za noted the reaction and many celebrated the biker’s actions, but others expressed disdain and felt he should be arrested.

Sandiswa Mdingi said, “Speeding motorists have called our loved ones. I'm surprised to see some people think this is funny and a good thing. Those cameras are one of the means to try put on some sense on suicidal drivers.”
Masilu Isaac commented: “This man deserves to be arrested for damaging property, most of our love ones end up on the road because of drivers who doesn't obey the road rules.”
Geoff Pereira responded, “Hahaha you bleeding hearts for a bunch of corrupt officials. I would pay that dudes bar tab for a year.”
Darryl Renaldo Van Schalkwyk added, “He was not the hero we wanted, but the hero we deserved.”
