- The photo of two 8-year-old boys on the first day of school has gone viral
- The story behind the picture is that one of the children has autism and the other boy noticed something different and tried to console him
- Social media users are going gaga over the story as it serves as proof that children love each other, irrespective of differences
The first day of school is filled with excitement for some, but can be a terrible experience for others.
Christian Moore and Connor Crites met on the first day of school and they’ve shared an inseparable bond ever since.
The two 8-year-old boys were seen holding hands and the photo of their interaction has gone viral via social media.
The background is that Christian noticed that Connor was crying in a corner upon arrival at school.
He instinctively wanted to make things better and reached out to Connor as he tried to console him.
Christian was unaware that the reason for Connor’s unique behaviour was that he suffers from Autism.
Kake News reported that Connor’s mother, April Crites, feared the worst for her child on his first day at Minneha Elementary School in Wichita, USA.
April said, "I fear every day that someone is going to laugh at him because he doesn't speak correctly, or laugh at him because he doesn't sit still or because he jumps up and down and flaps his hands."
The remarkable thing is that it was just a natural reaction between two children who liked each other, but their photo has served to inspire others around the world.
Briefly.co.za gathered that many adults were reminded of a valuable life lesson by the two youngsters.
April added, "It doesn't matter colour, it doesn't matter gender, it doesn't matter disability, and it doesn't matter anything, just be kind, open your heart... it's what we need in this world."
Social media users also heaped praise on Christian’s mother, Courtney, for raising such a kind and compassionate boy.
