- A woman is raising funds for her former employee's daughter
- The lady revealed the "bright" young girl received a bursary
- However, she needs to raise the bursary's shortfall because her mom can't cover it
Helen Counihan-Greene, who hails from Johannesburg, started a BackaBuddy campaign for her former employee's six-year-old girl, Nomandla Mpofu.
Counihan-Greene revealed the bright Grade R learner landed a scholarship for this year but she needs to pay the tuition fees for 2020 - which is a staggering R24 000.
"Nomandla is our old employee's daughter, who was like another child to us! She is a glorious creature, very clever and a sweet, charming personality! I helped name her, and she holds a very special place in my heart," Counihan-Greene wrote on BackaBuddy's page.
Briefly.co.za gathered that thus far the campaignhas managed to raise R12 054 but she needs to confirm her place by the end of August 2019.
Counihan-Greene revealed Mpofu has three other siblings and her mom is the sole provider in the family.
"She has a very solid education base which has been formed through a private, traditional, pre-primary and now Gr R. We have all worked so hard thus far to get her here, and we hope to continue this!" she wrote.
Counihan-Greene assured South Africans that the funds will go towards the little girl's education as it would be directly paid to the school, Parkview Junior School.
