- Kaizer Chiefs forward Samir Nurkovic has declared his ambition to bring silverware to Naturena
- The Serb produced a man-of-the-match display against Cape Town City to inspire them to victory
- Nurkovic cited the Amakhosi’s work ethic as the catalyst for the good results thus far
It’s no secret that Kaizer Chiefs endured a dismal season last term, but things are looking up for the Glamour Boys.
Chiefs enjoyed a productive transfer window as they sought to overhaul the squad.
One of the new boys, Samir Nurkovic, has signalled his intentions as he made it clear what his ambitions are.
“Well I came in this club to win some trophies and we work hard for that. We respect every opponent and we go from game to game and week to week,” he said.
The Serbian striker produced a man-of-the-match display against Cape Town City to inspire them to a 2-1 victory.
Although Chiefs conceded an early goal, they bounced back through goals scored by Daniel Cardoso and Kearyn Baccus.
The turnaround from last season has been extremely impressive and Nurkovic credited the team’s work ethic as reported by the Daily Sun.
Nurkovic said, "I think one word can describe our performance. Never give up. We didn't give up. We played till the end and when you work hard and give everything from yourself, you get to win in the end.”
Briefly.co.za recalled that the 27-year-old signed from KFC Komarno in July and he just may be the driving force behind a successful season for the Glamour Boys.
